Discovering the Hidden Gems of Nashua's Historic Downtown

Having lived near Nashua my entire life, my knowledge of the area was once limited to the Pheasant Lane Mall and the big box stores on Daniel Webster(ah) Highway. I never ventured into the historic downtown, unaware of its local small businesses, rich character, and undeniable charm.

That changed when I moved within walking distance of downtown. Now, I’m eager to share its hidden gems with you! 💎

The Nashua Center for the Arts 🎭

A relatively new addition to the city, the Nashua Center for the Arts has quickly become a local treasure. While it may not be a "small business," it offers incredible entertainment opportunities for locals. We attended a performance by Recycled Percussion there last winter, and they were absolutely fantastic! This venue brings a vibrant cultural scene to Nashua, perfect for an evening out.

Coffee & Kindness ☕️

Nestled on West Pearl Street, Coffee & Kindness is a delightful coffee shop that lives up to its name. With great coffee and an incredibly friendly staff, it’s the perfect spot to start your day or take a midday break. The cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality make every visit special.

CodeX Bar 🍸

For a unique experience, look no further than CodeX Bar, a speakeasy bar so hidden that you could easily walk right by it. Located in what appears to be an office building lobby, you have to knock on a bookcase to gain entry. This secretive spot fills up quickly and doesn’t take reservations, so plan to arrive early. Though I haven’t made it inside yet due to long wait times, I’ve heard rave reviews about the atmosphere and drinks.

Rambling House 🍽️

Rambling House on Factory Street is an upscale farm-to-table restaurant that offers more than just incredible food. The newly renovated building, towering over the Nashua River, boasts not one but two rooftop dining options, providing stunning views along with your meal. Their brunch is also a must-try. The ambiance and culinary delights make it a standout dining destination in Nashua.

Nashua's historic downtown is brimming with local charm and hidden gems waiting to be explored. Whether you're a long-time resident or just passing through, make sure to check out these spots and discover more local insights! 📍
